Islam
Prophet Abraham’s Religion, peace be upon him
In the name of Allah the Merciful the Compassionate
002.111 And they said: None shall enter the Paradise except he who was a Jew or a Christian. These are their desires. Say: Bring your proof if you are truthful.
002.112 Yes, whoever submits his face to Allah and he is a doer of good, then he has his reward with his Lord, and there is no fear for them nor shall they grieve.
002.127 And when Ibrahim and Ismail were raising the foundations of the House, our Lord accept from us; surely You are the Hearing, the Knowing:
002.128 Our Lord, and make us both submissive to You, and from our offspring a nation submitting to You, and show us our ways of worship and turn to us, You are the Oft-returning, the Merciful.
002.129 Our Lord, and raise up in them a Messenger from among them who recites to them Your Signs and teaches them the Book and the wisdom and purifies them, surely You are the Mighty, the Wise.
002.130 And who turns away from the religion of Ibrahim but he who makes himself a fool, and certainly We have chosen him in this world, and in the hereafter he is among the righteous.
002.131 When his Lord said to him: Surrender, he said: I surrendered to the Lord of the worlds.
002.132 And Ibrahim enjoined it on his sons and Yaqoub. O my sons, Allah has chosen for you the religion, therefore die not unless you are Muslims.
002.133 Or were you witnesses when death came to Jacob, when he said to his sons: What will you worship after me? They said: We worship your god and the god of your fathers, Ibrahim and Ismail and Ishaq, one God, and to Him we do submit.
002.134 That was a nation that has passed away; they shall have what they earned and you shall have what you earned, and you shall not be asked of what they used to do.
002.135 And they said: Be Jews or Christians, you will be guided. Say: No, but the religion of Ibrahim, the True, and he was not one of the polytheists.
002.136 Say: We believed in Allah and that which had been revealed to us, and that which was revealed to Ibrahim and Ismail and Ishaq and Yaqoub and the Tribes, and that which was given to Musa and Isa, and that which was given to the prophets from their Lord, we do not make any distinction between any of them, and to Him we surrender.
002.137 If then they believed in the like of that which you believed, then they are rightly guided, but if they turn back, then they are in schism, then Allah will suffice you against them, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
003.019 Surely the religion with Allah is Islam, and those to whom the Book had been given did not differ but after knowledge had come to them, out of envy among themselves; and whoever disbelieves in the signs of Allah then surely Allah is quick in reckoning.
003.020 But if they dispute with you, say: I have submitted my face to Allah, and (so) everyone who followed me, and say to those who have been given the Book and the unlearned people: Did you submit? If they submitted then they have been guided, but if they turn away, then it is your duty only to convey the message, and Allah sees the bondmen.
003.052 But when Isa perceived disbelief on their part, he said Who are my helpers in Allah's way? The disciples said: We are helpers of Allah: We believe in Allah and bear witness that we are Muslims.
003.067 Ibrahim was neither a Jew nor a Christian but he was true in faith, a Muslim, and he was not of the polytheists.
003.079 It is not for a human being that Allah should give him the Book and the wisdom and prophethood, then he should say to men: Be my servants rather than Allah's; but rather be worshippers of Him because of your teaching the Book and your reading it.
003.080 Nor would he command you to take the angels and the prophets for lords. Would he command you to disbelieve after you are Muslims?
003.081 When Allah took the covenant of the prophets, for that I have given you of Book and Wisdom then comes to you a messenger confirming what is with you, you shall believe in him and shall aid him, He said do you affirm and take this my Covenant as binding on you They said We do affirm, He said then bear witness and I am with you among the witnesses.
003.082 Then whosoever after this turns away, these are the transgressors.
003.083 Is it then other than Allah's religion that they seek, and to Him submitted whoever is in the heavens and the earth, willingly and unwillingly, and to Him shall they be returned.
003.084 Say: We believed in Allah and that which had been revealed to us, and that which was revealed to Ibrahim and Ismail and Ishaq and Yaqoub and the Tribes, and that which was given to Musa and Isa, and that which was given to the prophets from their Lord, we do not make any distinction between any of them, and to Him do we are Muslims.
003.085 And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it shall not be accepted from him, and in the hereafter he shall be one of the losers.
003.102 O you who believe observe your duty to Allah, with the care which is due to Him, and die not except in a state of Islam.
004.125 And who is better in religion than he who submitted his face to Allah, while doing good, and followed the faith of Ibrahim, the true one, and Allah took Ibrahim as a close friend.
005.003 Forbidden to you are: the dead, and blood, and flesh of swine, and that on which any other name than that of Allah has been invoked, and the strangled and that beaten to death, and that killed by a fall and that killed by being smitten with the horn, and that which wild beasts have eaten from, except what you slaughter, and what is sacrificed on stones (altars) and that you divide by the arrows; that is a transgression. This day have those who disbelieved despaired of your religion, so fear them not, and fear Me. This day have I perfected for you your religion and completed My favor on you and chosen for you Islam as a religion; but whoever is compelled by hunger, not inclining willfully to sin, then surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
005.015 O people of the Book, Our Messenger has come to you making clear to you much of what you used to conceal of the Book, and forgiving much; there has come to you light and a clear Book from Allah;
005.016 With it Allah guides him who will follow His pleasure into the ways of peace and brings them out of darkness into the light by His will and guides them to a straight path.
005.044 Surely We revealed the Taurat wherein is guidance and light; with it the prophets who submitted themselves judged for those who were Jews, and the rabbis and the priests, as they were bidden to observe of Allah’s Book, and they were witnesses thereof; therefore fear not the people and fear Me, and buy not for a small price My Signs, and whoever did not judge by what Allah revealed, then those are the unbelievers.
005.111 And when I inspired the disciples, that believe in Me and in My messenger, they said: We believe and bear witness that we are Muslims.
006.014 Say: Shall I take a guardian besides Allah, the Originator of the heavens and the earth, and He feeds and is not fed. Say: I am commanded to be the first of the Muslims, and you should not be of the polytheists.
006.054 And if those who believe in Our Signs come to you, say: Peace be on you, your Lord has ordained mercy on Himself, that if any one of you does evil in ignorance, then turns after that and amends, then He is Forgiving, Merciful.
006.071 Say: Shall we call on others besides Allah, things that can do us neither good nor harm, and turn on our heels after Allah has guided us? Like one whom the devils have infatuated in the earth, who has companions who invite him to the guidance: Come unto us? Say: Allah's guidance is the guidance, and we have been ordered to surrender to the Lord of the worlds
006.125 And whomsoever Allah intends to guide, He expands his breast for Islam, and whomsoever He intends to send astray, He makes his breast narrow and constricted as though he were ascending in the sky; thus does Allah cause uncleanness on those who do not believe.
006.126 And this is the path of your Lord, straight; We have detailed the signs for people who remember.
006.127 For them is the abode of peace with their Lord, and He is their guardian because of what they used to do.
006.161 Say: as for me, my Lord has guided me to a straight path; a right religion, the faith of Ibrahim the true one, and he was not of the polytheists.
006.162 Say. Surely my prayer and my sacrifice and my living and my dying are for Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.
006.163 No partner has He; and by that I was commanded, and I am the first of the Muslims.
010.072 But if you turn back no reward have I asked of you: my reward is only from Allah, and I am commanded to be of the Muslims. (Nuh)
010.084 And Musa said: O my people, if you have believed in Allah, then rely on Him if you are Muslims.
010.090 And We made the children of Israel to pass across the sea, then Pharaoh and his hosts followed them in oppression and tyranny; until when drowning overtook him, he said: I believe that there is no god but He in Whom the children of Israel believed and I am of the Muslims.
010.091 Now, and you have disobeyed before and you were of the mischief-makers.
011.013 Or, do they say: He has forged it. Say: Then bring ten chapters the like thereof invented and call upon whom you can besides Allah, if you are truthful.
011.014 But if they do not answer to your call, then know that it is revealed by Allah's knowledge and that there is no god but He; Are you then Muslims?
012.101 My Lord, You have given me of the kingdom and taught me of the interpretation of sayings: Originator of the heavens and the earth, You are my Guardian in this world and the hereafter; make me die a Muslim and join me to the righteous. (Yusuf)
015.001 Alif. Lam. Ra. (ALR) These are the Signs of the Book, and a clear Quran.
015.002 It may be that those who disbelieved wish that they had been Muslims.
016.089 And on the day when We raise up in every nation a witness unto them from among themselves, and bring you as a witness unto these, and We have revealed the Book to you explaining everything, and a guidance and mercy and good news for the Muslims.
016.102 Say: The Holy Spirit has brought it down from your Lord with the truth, to strengthen those who believed and a guidance and glad tidings for the Muslims.
021.107 And We have not sent you but as a mercy to the worlds.
021.108 Say: It is only inspired to me that your God is One God; will you therefore be Muslims?
021.109 But if they turn away, say: I have warned you all alike, although I know not whether what you are promised is near or far.
022.034 And to every nation We appointed a ritual that they may mention the name of Allah on what He has given them of the cattle; but your god is One God, therefore to Him should you submit, and give good tidings to the humble.
022.077 O you who believe, bow down and prostrate yourselves and serve your Lord, and do good that you may succeed.
022.078 And strive in Allah’s cause such as you ought to strive to Him, He has chosen you and has not laid upon you any hardship in religion; the faith of your father Ibrahim, he named you Muslims before and in this, that the Messenger may be a witness unto you, and you may be witnesses to the people, therefore establish prayer and give charity and hold fast to Allah, He is your Guardian, how excellent the Guardian and how excellent the Helper.
027.044 It was said to her: Enter the palace; but when she saw it she deemed it to be a great expanse of water, and bared her legs. He said: it is a palace made smooth with glass. She said: My Lord, surely I have been unjust to myself, and I submit with Sulaiman to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
027.081 Nor can you guide the blind out of their error; you can make none hear except those who believe in Our Signs, so they are Muslims.
027.091 I was but commanded that I should serve the Lord of this city, Who has made it sacred, and His are all things; and I am commanded that I should be of the Muslims.
027.092 And to recite the Quran. Therefore whoever is guided, he is guided for his own soul, and whoever goes astray, then say: I am only of the warners.
027.093 And say: Praise be to Allah, He will show you His signs then you shall recognize them; and thy Lord is not unmindful of all that you do.
028.052 Those whom We gave the Book before it, they believe in it.
028.053 And when it is recited to them they say: We believed in it, it is the truth from our Lord; surely we were Muslims before it.
028.054 These shall be granted their reward twice, because they were patient, and they repel evil with good and spend out of what We have given them.
029.044 Allah created the heavens and the earth in truth; verily in that is a Sign for the believers.
029.045 Recite what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish prayer; surely prayer restrains from indecency and evil, and certainly the remembrance of Allah is the greatest, and Allah knows what you do.
029.046 And do not dispute with the people of the Book except by what is best, save those of them who act unjustly, and say: We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you, and our Lord and your Lord is One, and to Him we are Muslims.
029.047 And thus have We revealed the Book to you. So those whom We have given the Book believe in it, and of these there are those who believe in it, and none deny Our Signs except the unbelievers.
030.053 Nor can you lead away the blind out of their straying. You can make none to hear but those who believe in Our Signs so they are Muslims.
031.022 And whoever submits his face to Allah and he is the doer of good, he indeed has taken the firmest hold; and Allah's is the end of affairs.
033.035 Surely the men who submit and the women who submit, and the believing men and the believing women, and the obeying men and the obeying women, and the truthful men and the truthful women, and the patient men and the patient women and the humble men and the humble women, and the almsgiving men and the almsgiving women, and the fasting men and the fasting women, and the men who guard their private parts and the women who guard, and the men who remember Allah much and the women who remember, Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a mighty reward.
039.011 Say: I was commanded to serve Allah, being sincere to Him in religion.
039.012 And I was commanded that I be the first of the Muslims.
039.022 Is he whose heart Allah has opened for Islam so that he is in a light from his Lord, Then woe to those whose hearts are hard against the remembrance of Allah; those are in manifest wandering.
039.053 Say: O my servants who have transgressed against their souls, do not despair of the mercy of Allah; for Allah forgives the faults altogether, surely He is the Forgiving the Merciful.
039.054 And return to your Lord and submit to Him before there comes to you the punishment, then you shall not be helped.
039.055 And follow the best that has been revealed to you from your Lord before there comes to you the punishment all of a sudden while you do not even perceive;
040.065 He is the Living, there is no god but He, therefore call on Him being sincere to Him in religion; praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
040.066 Say: I am forbidden to serve those whom you call upon besides Allah when clear proofs have come to me from my Lord, and I am commanded that I should submit to the Lord of the worlds.
041.033 And who is better in speech than one who called to Allah, did righteousness, and said: I am of the Muslims.
043.068 O My servants, there is no fear for you this day, nor shall you grieve.
043.069 Those who believed in Our signs and were Muslims.
046.015 We have enjoined on man kindness to his parents: In pain did his mother bear him, and in pain did she give him birth. The carrying of him to his weaning is thirty months, until when he attained his maturity and reached forty years, he said: My Lord, grant me that I may be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed on me, and on my parents, and that I may do good which pleases You, and be gracious unto me in the matter of my offspring; surely I turned to You, and I am of those who submit.
046.016 Those are they from whom We accept the best of what they have done and pass over their evil deeds, among the dwellers of the Paradise; the promise of truth which they were promised.
051.035 Then We evacuated such as were therein of the believers.
051.036 But We did not find therein save a house of the Muslims.
061.001 Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth declares the glory of Allah; and He is the Mighty, the Wise.
061.002 O you who believe, why do you say that which you do not do?
061.003 It is most hateful to Allah that you should say that which you do not do.
061.004 Surely Allah loves those who fight in His way in ranks as if they were a solid structure.
061.005 And when Musa said to his people: O my people why do you persecute me? And you know that I am Allah's messenger to you; but when they went astray, Allah sent their hearts astray, and Allah does not guide the transgressing people.
061.006 And when Isa son of Mariam said: O children of Israel, I am the messenger of Allah to you, verifying that which is before me of the Taurat and giving the good news of an Messenger who will come after me, whose name is Ahmad, yet when he came to them with clear arguments they said: This is clear magic.
061.007 And who is more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah when he is invited to Islam, and Allah does not guide the unjust people.
061.008 They intend to extinguish Allah's Light with their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light though the unbelievers may be averse.
061.009 He is Who sent His Messenger with the guidance and the true religion, that He may make it overcome all of the religions, though the polytheists may be averse.
061.014 O you who believe, be helpers of Allah, as Isa son of Mariam said to the disciples: Who are my helpers in the cause of Allah? The disciples said: We are helpers of Allah. So a party of the children of Israel believed and another party disbelieved; then We aided those who believed against their enemy, and they became uppermost.
068.034 Verily for the righteous, in the presence of their Lord, are gardens of bliss.
068.035 Shall We then make the Muslims as the criminals?
068.036 What has happened to you? How do you judge?
072.013 And that when we heard the guidance, we believed in it; so whoever believes in his Lord, he should fear neither loss nor oppression.
072.014 And that among us are those who are the Muslims, and some of us are the deviators; so whoever submitted, they have sought out the right conduct.
072.015 And as to the deviators, those were firewood for hell.
Wherever the words “Submit” or “Surrender” were used, they were used instead of the original word “Muslim” or “Islam”, which mean submit or surrender.
