Sayings of Prophet Muhammad PBUH about the seven skies from Sahih Bukhari and (Muslim)
(2753)-“Allah created on the same day when He created the skies and the earth, one hundred mercies, each mercy is coextensive with the space between the sky and the earth, and He endowed one part to the earth, and it is because of this part that the mother shows affection to her child, and that the beasts and birds show kindness to one another, and when there would be the day of resurrection, Allah would make full (use) with this mercy”.
2790 -“Whoever believed in Allah and in his messenger, performed prayer, and fasted Ramadan, it was rightfully upon Allah to admit him into heaven, whether he fought in Allah’s cause or sat in his land which he was born. They said: O Allah’s messenger, should not we bear the glad tidings to people then? He said: There are one hundred grades in paradise which Allah has prepared for those who work hard (or fight) for Allah’s cause, between every two grades is like what is between the sky and the earth, so if you ask Allah, ask Him for Al Firdaus, for it is the middle of paradise and the highest in paradise …….”.
3207- From the narration on the ascension trip to heaven: “….In the nearest sky, the Prophet met Adam … and Jesus and Yahya in the second sky … and Joseph in the third sky … and Idris in the fourth sky … and Aaron in the fifth sky … and Moses in the sixth sky … and Abraham in the seventh sky…..”.
{And your Lord best knows who are in the heavens and the earth, and we have preferred some of the prophets above others, and unto David We gave the Psalms. 17:55}
(2375)- “I happened to pass by Moses on the occasion of the night journey, near the red mount, and he was performing prayer in his grave”.
2807 - “………… O Allah’s Prophet, will you not tell me about Haritha” -- and he was martyred on the day of Badr -- ………. The Prophet replied: “Haritha’s mother, it is paradises in paradise, and your son has hit the highest firdaus”.
“Exceed in prayers for me on a Friday, for it is a witnessed day, and the angels witness it. And there is no one who would pray for me, but his prayer will be shown to me as soon as he finishes it. I said and after death? He said and after death, and Allah has prohibited the earth of consuming the bodies of the prophets, therefore Allah`s prophet is alive given provision”. Al Bukari. Tuhfat Al Muhtaj 1/527
{Do not say about those who are killed for Allah’s cause that they are dead, they are alive but you do not feel it. 2:154}.
6488 - “Heaven is closer to one of you than his shoe lace, and hell is so also”.
(2483)- “I never heard the Prophet tell a living person who is walking, that he is dwelling in heaven , save to Abdullah Bin Salam”.
{ ….. and make for you a light with which you shall walk, and forgive you….. 57:28}.
(2458)- “The Prophet peace be upon him, said to Bilal at the time of morning prayer: O Bilal! Narrate to me which to you is the best act you did in Islam, for which you hope to receive good reward, for I heard during the night the sound of your steps before me in paradise. Bilal said: I did not do any act in Islam, for which I hope to benefit more by, but this that when I perform complete purification during night or day, I observe prayer with that purification, what Allah has ordained for me to pray”.
(234)- “If anyone amongst you performs the ablution, and completes the ablution well and then says: I testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger, the eight gates of Paradise would be opened for him and he may enter by whichever of them he wishes”.
3207-“………Then Al bait Al ma’mur was raised to me, I asked Gabriel and he said: This is Al Bait Al Ma’mur, where 70,000 angels perform prayers daily, when they leave, they never return to it up to their last one. Then I was shown Sirdat-ul-Muntaha, ………. Four rivers originated at its roots, two of them were apparent and two were hidden. I asked Gabriel, he said: the two hidden rivers are in paradise and the apparent ones are the Nile and the Euphrates …..”
555-“Angels come to you in succession by night and day, and all of them get together at the time of the dawn and afternoon prayers, then those who have passed the night with you ascend to heaven, and Allah asks them, though He knows everything about them:” In what state did you leave my slaves? ”The angels reply: when we left them they were praying, and when we reached them they were praying”.
1899-“When the month of Ramadan starts the gates of heaven are opened, and the gates of hell are closed, and the devils are chained”.
3330-“When you hear the crowing of cocks ask Allah of His blessings, for they have seen an angel. And when you hear the braying of the donkey, seek refuge with Allah from Satan, for he has seen a Satan”.
1379-“When any one of you dies, his seat (or place) is displayed before him in the morning and in the afternoon, if he is from the people of heaven, then amongst the people of heaven, and if he is from the people of hell, then it is said: this is your place till Allah resurrects you on the resurrection day”.
{O soul, peaceful (assured).- Return to your Lord, well-pleased, well-pleasing. - So enter among My bondsmen. - And enter My Heaven. 89: 27-30}.
{Those whom the angels cause to die in a good state, saying: Peace be on you, enter the heaven for what you did.16: 32}.
7451-“A Jew scribe came to the Prophet and said: O Muhammad! Allah will hold the heavens on a finger, and the mountains on a finger, and the trees and the rivers on a finger, and all the creation on a finger, and then He will say: ”I Am The King”. On that Allah’s Apostle smiled and then recited; {No just estimate have they made of Allah such as due to him. 39:67}”.
{No just estimate have they made of Allah such as is due to Him, and all the earth in his fist on the day of resurrection and the skies folded within his right Praised and Exalted He is above which they join to Him.39: 67}.
{And the trumpet shall be blown stunning those who are in the skies and in the earth save whom Allah wishes then it shall be blown again where they shall be up, looking. 39:68}.
4812-“Allah will hold the whole earth and fold the skies with his right hand and say: I Am The King, where are the kings of the earth?”
4406-“Time has turned the way it were the day Allah created the skies and the earth, the year is of twelve months, out of which four months are sacred: Three are in succession Dhul- Qa' da, Dhul-Hijja and Muharram, and Rajab of Mudar which comes between Jumadi-ath-Thaniyah and Sha ban. Which month is this? We said: Allah and his prophet know better, and then he was silent until we thought he was going to call it other than its name, he said: is not the sacrifice day? We said: sure yes, he said: so your blood and wealth and honour are sacred unto you, as the sacredness of your day, this day in this country of yours, in this month of yours, and you shall meet your Lord, and He shall ask you concerning your deeds, therefore do not return stray after me, some of you striking the necks of others, It is incumbent upon the witness, to inform the absent, may the one conveying (or receiving) it comprehend it better than the one who heard it. Then he said: haven’t I conveyed Allah’s message to youthe year 12 months…….. . It is incumbent upon the witness, to inform the absent, may the one conveying (or receiving) it comprehend it better than the one who heard it. Then he said: have’nt I conveyed Allah’s message to you?”.
(2653)- “Allah wrote the measures of the creation 50,000 years before He created the heavens and the earth, and His Throne was upon water”
349- ……. “Then I was ascended to a level where I heard the creaking of the pens”……..
{This is Our book, speaks against you with justice; We were rewriting what you did.45: 29}.
1196-“Between my house and my pulpit there is a garden from amongst the gardens of paradise, and my pulpit is over my fount (lake or basin)”.
1344-“That the prophet peace be upon him went out one day, where he offered a payer unto the people of Uhud, as his funeral payer, then he proceeded to the pulpit where he said: I am a predecessor for you and I am a witness unto you, and by Allah I am looking at my fount just now, and I have been given the keys of the treasures of the earth, and by Allah I do not fear for you that you will worship others beside Allah after me, but I fear that you will strive and struggle against each other therein”.
418-“Do you see my Qibla (facing Mecca) here, by Allah, nothing is hidden from me regarding your bowing and submissiveness. And I do see you from behind my back”.
{And your turning about among those who fall prostrate. 26:219}.
(2292)-“My fount is a month’s journey, and it’s corners (or sides) are equal, and it’s water is whiter than paper, and it’s odor is more fragrant than musk, and it’s jugs are like stars of the sky, and he who drinks from it shall never thirst after that”.
438- “I have been given five things which were not given to any amongst the prophets before me. These are: Allah made me victorious by awe for a distance of one month's journey. The earth has been made for me a place for praying and a thing to perform Tayammum. Therefore my followers can pray wherever the time of a prayer is due. The booty has been made Halal (lawful) for me. Every prophet used to be sent to his nation exclusively but I have been sent to all mankind. I have been given the right of intercession”.
572- Narrated 'Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-As: “……… On that he said, "Fast for three days every month and recite the Qur'an in one month …………. ”
6583-“I am your predecessor at the fount, whoever will pass by me will drink, , and whoever drinks from would never thurst again, people will pass by me whom I recognize, and who recognize me, and then they will be taken away from me, ……………. I shall say: They are from me, it shall be said: You have no knowledge regarding what they created after you. I shall say: woe to him who changed after me”.
110-“Name yourselves with my name, but not with my kunya (Abul Kassem), and whoever sees me in a dream, then surely he has seen me, for Satan cannot impersonate me, and whoever intentionally tells a lie against me, let him occupy his seat in hell fire”.
(2364)-“By Him in whose hand is Muhammad’s soul! A day would come to one of you when he would not be able to see me, and then to see me would be dearer to him than his own family and his property with them”.
7273-“I have been sent with Jawami al kalam (the gatherers of the words, or the shortest expression gathering the widest meaning), and I was made victorious with awe (caste into the hearts of the enemy), and while I was sleeping, the keys of the treasures of the earth were brought to me, and were put in my hand”.
7274-“There was no prophet among the prophets, but was given of the miracles the equivalence of what caused believing, or people believed in. But what I was given was divine inspiration which Allah revealed to me, therefore I hope that on the day of resurrection I will have the most followers.”
7276-“Trust (honesty) descended from the heavens and settled in the roots of the hearts of men, and then the Quran was revealed and people read the Quran and learnt from the Sunna (Prophets guidance or example)“.
7278-“I shall judge between you by Allah’s book”.
7280-“All my nation will enter paradise except those who refuse” O Allah’s messenger and who refuses? ”Whoever obeyed me will enter paradise, and whoever disobeyed me, he had refused”.
1343-“ The Prophet Peace be upon him, used to gather every two killed men of Uhud in one shroud, then he would ask, "Which of them had more of the Quran?" When one of them was pointed out for him, he would put him first in the grave and he said "I am a witness on these on the Day of Judgement." He ordered them to be buried with their blood on their bodies and they were neither washed nor was a funeral prayer offered for them”.
(2937)- “ ………… Other than the Dajjal (fake Christ) I harbor fear to you, if he comes forth, while I am among you, I shall contend with him on your behalf, but if he comes forth while I am not amongst you, a man contends on his own behalf and Allah is my successor unto every Muslim.”
4937-“Such a person as recites the Quran and masters it by heart, will be with the noble righteous scribes and such a person who exerts himself to learn the Quran by heart and recites it with great difficulty will have a double reward”.
2399-“There is no believer that I am not but more responsible for (closer to) him than himself in this life and in the hereafter, and you can read if you will {The Prophet is closer to the believers than their own selves…..33:6}, so if any believer died, and left behind some money, let his successors whoever they may be inherit him. And whoever leaves a dept to be paid, or lost (offspring or in his trust), then he should come to me, as I am his guardian”.
4351- “Ali bin Abi Talib sent a piece of gold not yet taken out of its ore, in a tanned leather container to Allah's Apostle . Allah's Apostle distributed that amongst four Persons: 'Uyaina bin Badr, Aqra bin Habis, Zaid Al-Khail and the fourth was either Alqama or Amir bin At Tufail. On that, one of his companions said, "We are more deserving of this gold than these persons." When that news reached the Prophet, he said, "Don't you trust me though I am the truth worthy man of those in the Heaven, and I receive the news of Heaven both in the morning and in the evening?" There got up a man with sunken eyes, raised cheek bones, raised forehead, a thick beard, a shaven head and a waist sheet that was tucked up and he said, "O Allah's Apostle! Be afraid of Allah." The Prophet said, "Woe to you! Am I not of all the people of the earth the most entitled to fear Allah?" Then that man went away. Khalid bin Al-Wahd said, "O Allah's Apostle! Shall I hit his neck off?" The Prophet said, "No, for he may offer prayers." Khalid said, "How many are those who offer prayers and say by their tongues what is not in their hearts." Allah's Apostle said, "I have not been ordered to search the hearts of the people or cut open their bellies." Then the Prophet looked at the man while the latter was going away and said, "From the offspring of this man there will come out people who will recite the Qur'an moist, does not exceed their throats. They would pass through the religion as an arrow goes through a game's body." I think he also said, "If I should catch them at their time I would kill them as the nation of Thamud were killed." (Book #59, Hadith #638)
3461-“convey to people from me, if it were a single sign, and tell unburdened about bani Israel, and whoever tells a lie on me intentionally, let him take his place in the hell fire”.
2966- “Abdullah bin Abi Aufa wrote him (Umar) a letter that contained the following: "Once Allah's Apostle, in one of his military expeditions against the enemy, waited till the sun had declined and then he got up among the people and said, "O people! Do not wish to face the enemy and ask Allah for safety but if you should face them, then be patient and let it be known to you that Paradise is under the shades of swords." He then said,, "O Allah! The Revealer of the Book, the Mover of the clouds, and Defeater of Al-Ahzab (the clans of infidels), defeat them and grant us victory over them.”
1879-“The terror caused by Al dajjal (fake Christ), will not enter Medina, and at that time the Medina will have seven gates, and there will be two angels at each gate”.
1884-“….. It (The Medina) purifies men just as fire removes the alloy of iron”.
2992-“………. He is with you, He is All Hearer Ever Near”.
1145-“Our Lord The Blessed, The Superior, comes every night down to the nearest sky, when the last third of the night remains, saying: is there anyone to invoke Me so that I may respond to him, is there anyone to ask Me, so that I may grant him his request, is there anyone seeking My forgiveness, so that I may forgive him”.
3209-“If Allah loves a person, He calls Gabriel, saying Allah loves so and so, O Gabriel love him. So Gabriel would love him, and then would make an announcement in heaven, Allah has loved so and so, and therefore you should love him also, so all the dwellers of the heavens would love him, and then he is granted the pleasure of the people on the earth”.
799-“One day we were praying behind the Prophet. When he raised his head from bowing, he said, "Sami'a-l-lahu Liman hamida." (Allah hears who praises him) A man behind him said, "Rabbana walaka-l hamd hamdan Kathiran taiyiban mubarakan fihi" (O our Lord! To You is praise, many good and blessed praises). When the Prophet completed the prayer, he asked “who has said these words?” The man replied: I. The prophet said: “I saw over thirty Angels competing who among them writes it first”.
831-“Whenever we prayed behind the Prophet we used to recite 'Peace be on Gabriel, Michael, peace be on so and so. Once Allah's Apostle looked back at us and said, 'Allah Himself is Peace, and if anyone of you prays then he should say: All the compliments, prayers and good things are due to Allah: peace be on you, O Prophet and Allah's mercy and blessings be on you, all peace be on us and on the true pious slaves of Allah, if you say that, it will reach all the pious slaves of Allah in the heaven and the earth …..”
935-“ The prophet said: on Friday there is a particular hour, if a Muslim happens to be praying and invoking Allah for something during that time, Allah will fulfill his request ……..”.
3211-“When it is a Friday, the Angels stand at all the gates of the mosque and keep on writing the names of the persons coming to the mosque, in succession according to their arrival, when the Imam sits, they fold their papers and come to listen to the speech”.
6408-“Allah has Angels who look on the paths for those celebrating praises of Allah. And when they find some people celebrating the praises of Allah, they call each other, saying: come to the object of your pursuit. He said: then they encircle them with their wings to the nearest sky…….”
4607-“The example of one who celebrates the praises of his lord, in comparison to one who does not celebrate the praises of his lord , is that of a living compared to a dead one”.
6478-“A slave may utter a word which pleases Allah without giving it importance, Allah raises degrees by it. And a slave may utter a word which displeases Allah without thinking of its gravity, and because of it he falls into hell”.
(665)-“Bani Salama wanted to move beside the mosque, and the land was empty. The news reached prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, he said O Bani Salama! Your dwellings, are recording your traces. They said we were not glad that we had moved.
3334-“Allah will say to the person who will have the minimum punishment in the Fire on the Day of Resurrection, 'If you had things equal to whatever is on the earth, would you ransom yourself (from the punishment) with it?' He will reply, Yes. Allah will say: I asked you much less than this, while you were in the backbone of Adam: not to worship any other beside Me, but you insisted on worshipping others beside Me”.
3208-“The creation of one of you, is collected (or gathered) in the womb of his mother within 40 days, then he becomes a clot (of blood) for a similar period, and then he becomes a chew (a piece of flesh) for a similar period. Then Allah sends an angel, who is then ordered four words, and is told: write his deeds, and his abundance, and his prescribed term, and a wretched or a blessed one, then the spirit is breathed into him. So one of you may do deeds until there is nothing but a cubit between him and paradise, then his book decides his fate, and he does deeds characteristic of hell people, and does deeds until there is but a cubit between him and hell, then the book decides his fate, and he does deeds characteristic of the people of paradise”.
2447-“Oppression is darkness on the day of resurrection”.
2248-“Beware from the invocation of the oppressed, as there is no veil between it and Allah”.
2453-“……Whoever usurps less than a cubit of earth unjustly, his neck will be encircled with it from the seven earths”.
2454-“Any person who takes something from the earth unjustly will sink down the seven earths on the day of resurrection”.
7096-“While we were sitting at Umar’s, he said (Umar bin Al-Khattab), "Who amongst you remembers the statement of Allah's Apostle regarding the afflictions? He said: A man's afflictions concerning his relation to his family, his property and his neighbors are expiated by his prayers, giving in charity and enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil.' " 'Umar said, "I don't mean these afflictions, but about those afflictions which will move like the waves of the sea. Hudhaifa said: Don’t worry about it, O chief of believers, for there is a closed door between you and that. Umar said: will it be broken or opened? He said: No, it will be broken. Umar said: Then it will never be closed. I said: yes. We asked Hudhaifa: Did Umar know who the door is? He said: Yes, as he knew that there will be a night before tomorrow morning, that is because I narrated to him a true narration free from errors. We dared not ask him who is the door? So we ordered Masruq to ask him. He said Umar”.
2035-“ ….... Satan’s approximation to the human being is, like blood……”.
5393-“A believer eats in one intestine and an unbeliever eats in seven intestines”.
5165-“Had one of you on having a close relation with his wife, would say: In the name of Allah, O Allah keep Satan away from us, and keep him away from what You bestow on us. And if it is destined that they should have a child then, no Satan will ever be able to harm him”.
4701-“When Allah has ordained some affair in the heaven, the angels beat with their wings in obedience to his statement, like a chain dragging over a rock……………”.
(2229)-“…………..., but our Lord, the Exalted and Glorious, when He decides a matter, the angels holding the throne sing His Glory, then sing the dwellers of the sky that is next to them, until this Glory reaches them who are in the sky of this world. Then those who are near to the supporters of the throne, ask these supporters: What your Lord has said? And they accordingly inform them what He said, Then the dwellers of the skies seek information from each other, until this information reaches this near sky……………….”.
918-“There was a stem of a palm tree, which the Prophet used to stand by when delivering a sermon. But when the pulpit was placed for him, we heard that stem crying like a she camel, till the Prophet got down and placed his hand over it”.
1361- “The Prophet once passed by two graves and said, "These two persons are being tortured not for a major sin. One of them never saved himself from being soiled with his urine, while the other used to go about with calumnies (to make enmity between friends)." The Prophet then took a green leaf of a date-palm tree, split it into two pieces and fixed one on each grave. They said, "O Allah's Apostle! Why have you done so?" He replied: May their punishment be abated till they get dry”.
{Say: If your water should go down, who then shall bring you a water supply? 67:30}
3675- “Uhud (Mountain)! Be still, for upon you is a prophet, a believer and two martyrs”.
(2277)-“I know a stone in Mecca, which used to pay me salutations before my advent as a prophet, and I recognize him now”.
7294-“………….. By Him in whose hand my life is, paradise and hell were displayed before me across this wall, while I was praying. And I never saw like today, of good and evil”.
- “The first thing that Allah created is the pen, and said write, it said: Write what O Lord? He said: write destiny, he said: so the pen ran with what will be of that till the time of the hour, and He raised water vapor then ripped from it the heavens”. (Jarikh Al Tabari no. 1/33)
- I met Ibrahim on the night journey, he said: O Muhammad convey to your nation from me the greetings of peace, and tell them that heaven has a moist soil, its water is sweat, that it is beds, its plants are Glorified is Allah, and praise if for Allah, and there is no God but Allah, and Allah is the greatest. (Al Albani no105)
Narrated 'Abdullah: We used to consider miracles as Allah's Blessings, but you people consider them to be a warning. Once we were with Allah's Apostle on a journey, and we ran short of water. He said, "Bring the water remaining with you." The people brought a utensil containing a little water. He placed his hand in it and said, "Come to the blessed water, and the Blessing is from Allah." I saw the water flowing from among the fingers of Allah's Apostle , and no doubt, we heard the food glorifying Allah, when it was being eaten. (Book #56, Hadith #779)
