Chasing the Reports

After a year and a half of sending complaint letters to the Hospital’s management, then to the Health Committee, then the Amiri Diwan, where I did not receive any replies to my letters or calls, and was denied a meeting with an official, I sent my letter to the media and international Human Rights Committees. Three days after my first letter to the media they sent after me, and asked for reports. I brought them the report after a month of chasing and after I left my son leave alone. What is next?
The courts in a country whose legal system is more corrupt than their health system.
They hide patient’s files, and make people sign on papers freeing them of the responsibility in case the treatment failed.
Their lawyers charge big sums and their judges fight fiercely for the government hospital and one case in a thousand passes.
The Qatari lawyer I saw last year demanded two reports from outside clinics, but private clinics do not dare give reports against Hamad Hospital, because their licenses are issued from there.
I had tried to get the Rumaila report for my son in April 2007, the details are in my letters to Hamad Hospital management page.

Dr. Khairalla: Manager of Dental Hospital at Rumaila, branch of Hamad Hospital
Dr. Sivam Rabindranath: Head of Orthodontics consultants at Rumaila evening private clinic. He was told to leave the hospital few days after my first complaint to the management at Hamad Hospital, but he was given a year to finish his dental cases. Last August he was rewarded by moving to the new prestigious Future Dental Centre.
Dr. Haider: Orthodontist Consultant replaced Sivam lately, may God compensate him for witnessing to the Truth.
Mr. Paul: Manager of Rumaila Hospital, British but a descendant of pirates.
Dr. Mamoun: In charge of the complaints section under Dr. Peter Hill’s management in Hamad Hospital.
Dr. Saad AlKaabi: Previous Medical Director who was hiding my complaint letters and protecting the criminal Sivam, he was moved days after I sent my case to The Health Committee.
Dr. Peter Hill: A manager in Hamad Hospital, replaced Dr. Saad Al Kaabi the medical director days after I raised my complaint to Dr. Galia Al Thani Head of the Health Committee.
Dr. Hanan Alkuwari: Another manager higher than Dr. Hill at Hamad Hospital.
Mrs. Heyam: From the public relations office at Hamad Hospital.
Mrs. Suad Al Hamad: Social worker at the Public relations office.
Miss Tula: An Australian who was supposed to be following up with my letters to the management, but she is more involved with defending America which I mentioned in my last letters.

28/6 I sent my first angry letter after the many polite letters to the five stars wheel chair inaccessible hospital.
29/6/2008 Tula called, the first time she calls me. She did not understand my letter but wanted to defend the US mobs.
14/7 Mrs. Heyam called to tell me to call Dr. Mamoun.
I called Dr. Mamoun, he asked about the reports. The involved doctors were on vacations. Dr. Mamoun advised me to bring the reports, and for my son from Rumaila. After my letter to the media I am in a place that cannot be envied, without support to my claims and a proof against their crimes!
15/7 I called to get an appointment from Dr. Mustafa Alkhalil through Mr. Paul at Rumaila, his secretary gave me an appointment on the 17 at ten.
16/7 Mr. Paul called to cancel the appointment saying there is no need for it because the report was sent a long time ago, and there is no use in more calls. I said that there is a release for my case from the management at hamad and they want a report, and that Dr. Mustafa wrote about the problem to Al Kaabi then. He said he will call me back after the weekend on Sunday to give me an appointment with him and Dr. Mustafa. He did not call, I called his secretary she said that he said the report will be sent next week to the management at hamad and not to me. I called doctor Wisam, he said that the report will be given to me! I called Paul’s office and told his secretary that she did not tell me the right information, and he still refused to talk to me, she sounded not sure and I said will I get the report in one week or who?
20/7 after few calls Mr. Paul called back, he was offended because I was rude to his secretary, he told me that the report will be written after the end of August when their consultant comes back from vacation and it will be the same as the one written before that there was no medical mistake. When I said I keep hearing different stuff regarding the same subject, he said that is normal when I call 5 people I will hear 5 answers, and he told me not to call him, Rumaila or anybody anymore.
I called Dr. Wisam, he said that the decision of the committee was based on the reports that there were no medical mistakes, and that I will not get anything unless in legal settlements through courts.
They refuse to give reports, and do not accept reports from outside and they own the courts.
21/7 I called Mrs. Heyam, told her what happened between Mr. Paul’s office and Dr. Wisam’s, she asked why I did not get a lawyer. My son has to be here and has to go to Canada, the lawyer demands reports that are impossible to get and the courts are not encouraging. She advised to follow up with Dr. Mamoun.
I continued to see Dr. Mamoun, I said I was planning to go to Canada with my son, do you see any benefit from my case? He said to be honest no, not without reports, and he doubts that I can get them but I should try. Do they have to be from Hamad Hospital? He said yes and if I get them he can put them in the Sudanese’ eyes, the one in charge of the legal cases in their section. I told him that Dr. Mustafa Al Khalil from Rumaila had written a report that my son needs an operation, he said if I bring him the file number and date he can dig it up.
I continued to Rumaila, saw Dr. Mustafa Khalil, asked him if he wrote a report as he promised last year, and if he stated in it that he saw that my son needs an operation, he said that he attended a meeting and told the administration, but that it was decided that my son also was negligent and that it was not his specialty any way to judge he is a plastic surgeon, (He offered then to operate on my son in their primitive slaughter house). I reminded him that we were referred to him and to Dr. Khalid Al Hamadani, who is also a plastic surgeon (turned out for hands), because Sivam and Khairallah refused to attend the meetings then. He said that I can ask any of Sivam’s colleagues to write a report through Dr. Khairallah.
I went to Dr. Khairallah, I said the administration is opening my case, they want a report, he said that they had a meeting yesterday, and that they were told to write a report but they will send it to the management at hamad not to me. I asked if they had confirmed in their previous report that my son needs an operation, he said that they had a meeting and sent the report right away, but Sivam blamed my son for negligence, I said to a degree that he needs a serious operation, but he never noticed that and left the case before it was finished and after it as too late. He said that Dr. Haidar and Dr. Najat will write a report. I asked if it will mention the problem and if I can leave the pictures and reports for them, he said that Dr. Haidar is someone with good judgment and conscience, I can talk to him. He said also that Dr. Mustafa attended the meeting yesterday, I said I just saw him and he recommended I ask you to have one of sivam’s colleagues write a report. He asked why do not I follow with Mr. paul. I said he told me not to call anybody here or in hamad. He asked why! I said I do not know, he tells me stuff different than everyone else, he said that the same report will be written again that there was no medical mistake. Dr. Khairallah said that the case went through fast they did not delay, the report was handed within days, I said Al Kaabi is gone now and I feel Dr. Peter’s office is willing to reopen the case. I know that Sivam was told to leave instantly after that, he said that there were other issues against him. I said in two weeks after taking my case to the health committee Al Kaabi left the management, he replied that Sivam is still here till August, why did not you sue him? I said my son has to go to university….. he said that Sivam is staying in the country, and moving to a prestigious new centre called the future.

I took my letter to the Lebanese embassy asked for Diplomatic protection for the threat I received from Hamad Hospital and wrote to the Canadian Embassy.

I called Miss Salwa in Aspire Zone, I told her that I saw a lady surgeon at Al Ahli hospital, third confirmation that I need a major surgery. If I do not hear from the management I will put my case with Hamad hospital case at the lawyer before I leave.

Miss Salwa called to tell me they are reviewing my case and investigating and will call me, she said she is leaving next week on vacation. I went to five police stations to file a complaint against Hamad hospital, the last referred me to the head of the police, to come see him in the morning shift, but warned me to be extremely careful with my words.
The two embassies advised to contact the United Nations office in Doha, neither them nor the American and the British embassies or Qtel directory heard of its location or know its telephone number! But they assure me that it exists. I did not find them, they too are for diplomatic relations between countries.

Miss Mariam from the complaints office called me and asked if I had spoken to Miss Suad Al Hamad, and told me she wishes to see me today after one hour, I said tomorrow? Miss Suad started by asking me if my husband and children know what I am doing? Then went into the details of my heavy letter, then inquired about the threat and wrote it down and said that is serious and never happened before, they will investigate it. She wanted me to bring reports and told me she will be away till the beginning of Ramadan in 2 weeks. She advised me to pray to God may the rescue come from where I do not expect! She told me that she is replacing Tula temporarily because she is on vacation. She said to bring the reports to the secretary of the complaints office and that a Qatari at the hospital will call me soon.
The appointments I had booked with Dr. Zirie the endocrinology consultant who knows what Almasri before him did to my bones, and Dr Kawas in Orthopedics, my appointments on the 10th were for that, I was waiting for the reports. Around the day my son left to Canada I reorganized the medical files, more than 250 papers of tests and referrals in 6 files, all since we fell into Hamad Hospital. I picked the important reports took them to be certified from the health ministry. Then I took them to be copied, sorted two copies in folders and kept a third copy. I took the two filed copies and went to get the reports from Hamad hospital. I gave a copy to Mrs. Heyam at the complaints office and went to get the reports, Dr. Kawas did not write yet and Dr. Zirie’s report is useless. I continued to see Dr. Mamoun at doctor Peter Hill’s office in Hamad Hospital. He was walking out the hallway, he was disappointed. Where are the reports from the doctors? He said he will be back in 10 minutes. Dr. Mamoun read Dr. Zirie’s report and told me to go back to him, he said that doctors do not dare testify against other doctors but I can tell him that doctors names do not appear on the reports they hide them. He told me a big shot at the hospital is insisting to sue me and had contacted American lawyers, he said he tried to persuade him not to. He asked about my family’s circumstances and why did not I hire a lawyer? I said it is useless, do you know of a good lawyer?

I went to see Dr. Hydar, I was there at 7, my husband was on his way to Lebanon. I gave him the complaint letter with the story and the first CD with 20 pictures, I told him I did not leave with my son because I waited for him to come back from his vacation for the report, he said he will ask for the file and write a report in 2 days.

Morning I went to the Consultant’s clinic to get the report after I had called few times to ask for it, after I had asked Dr. Kifah to write it before he left on his vacation a month ago, so that my son can take it with him to Canada, and now it will help in getting the report from Rumaila. In the evening I went to the lawyer, he asked with disbelief because I am educated: where is the dental report or proof that he was treated at Rumaila, he warned that they might hide the file. Would they sue me? He said dare them it will turn against them, if they send me a police car to call the Canadian embassy, Lebanese embassy is for dinner parties.

Dr. Haeder said there is not much in the file, he does not know the case to write the report. I gave him the second CD with Kifah’s report, and told him I will bring him the mold and report from Canada. My son needs the molds for his appointment on 27.

I called my son, things are not fine, and he does not want to talk now. The doctor told him that all the previous years work was for nothing including last year and that it would have been better for him to go for the surgery last year. Muhmoud the tired, after the many years at dental clinics because of a crime that had never been heard of. I went to the evening clinic at Hamad Hospital, Dr. Kawas wrote the report. Dr. Zirie told me to come back on Sunday he is busy. I thought that he revised the matter and he wants time to discuss it before he rewrites the report. I called Dr. Mamoun, he said go pay for the report at Rumaila and he will speed it and get it in 3 days.

I went to see Dr. Hydar, I passed by the secretary Miss Hilda she said Dr. Hydar applies for the report. He said after he writes it I can pay for it. I asked him to fill the request so I can pay for the report he said Dr. Khairalla will, he is coming back tomorrow. I called Dr. Mamoun to ask about the old report from Rumaila from last year, I had asked him few weeks ago, he said he checked right away, there was no report! (No report from Sivam or Dr. Khairalla or the investigation committee!)

I called Hilda for an appointment with Dr. Khairalla, she said he will be back on Sunday 31st, but he will be busy better see him on Monday.

I went to another lawyer, I told him about the threat from Hamad Hospital to sue me, he said that it may be a case for a case.

I went to Dr. Haeder, he said that Sivam would object to the fact that my son was seen by other dentists. I said give me a report about how he ended after the five years he was treated here. He does not have the facts from the beginning of the treatment, I gave him the CD with the first mold with the expander from 2002, that I asked my son to take a photo of. What about the file, does not it say had class 3 and it ended with class 3? I went to Dr. Khairalla, had the form filled, paid and was told to take it to Dr. Hydar, he said to give it to Dr. Khairallahs office and he will send the report by tomorrow.
Dr. Zirie kept me waiting more than an hour at the evening private clinic, and when I went in he asked who am I? He does not want to change his report but confirmed that the investigations committee will know. Had he said in his report what he and Dr. Jayyousi said, that the treatment was wrong, reversed. It was supposed to begin with the highest dose and decrease with time. He also said that since I have tolerated all this time, he will try the treatment for one more month. Tolerated, meaning many things, including developing high blood pressure, the quick and weird curving of my bones, mostly obvious in my wrists, lower neck and middle back, and the problem of the lower back and pelvic bones. Dr. Zirie changed the Carbimazole to the original brand Neomercazole. In two weeks my Tsh jumped to 2.9 after seven months of a zero reading, in Al Masris clinic. He caused me to drop my case until I leave to Canada with my files to get a report about their crimes and negligence. Upon inquiring in local pharmacies, I understood that the original Neomercazole is better, and that only Hamad Hospital has it, while private pharmacies sell the local generic brand.
I had asked my son to send the molds by DHL, but he will need them later and for another consultation, I asked him to take pictures of them and e-mail them. I had taken to Dr. Haider on four different days the photos that my son sent, and the files on my computer and the report from Kifah, the one I had asked him to write before he left on his vacation, and later when my son was able to open the stuck mold from 2007 after his appointment with his dentist. After three calls the report from Kifah was ready. I told him to add the dates when he started and the last appointment on the report!
I had told Dr. Khairallah and Dr. Haider that I let my son leave alone, he is stressed in his first days of university and the decision for his operation, I need to be with him to check for other opinions and I had to wait for the doctors to come back for the reports. The third summer I cannot leave, last summer I was searching for a solution for my son after I learned of the disaster. Had I taken a decision to go to Canada for the operation then, I was hoping to find another solution to spare him the operation, a big serious and costly operation. We do not get medical coverage before spending six months there, and he would have lost two academic years, he had one more year to graduate from Doha College. The summer before, my family went on vacation to Greece and I stayed because I could not sit, because of the thyroid idiot who was treating me, and caused the fast deterioration of my bones and caused the opening of the wound in the last vertebrae.
On my third visit to Dr. Hydar and handing him more pictures and Kifah’s report, he said that Khairallah is coming back soon and he will sign for the report, he asked for the report from Canada, I said after they knew I have a case here they might not want to treat my son anymore.

I was about to get the report, then I knew that it was held because the file is missing, I called Dr. Mamoun he called them. I said I had given Dr. Haider all the evidence that he needs on CD’s with all the x-rays, molds and pictures, the reports from Drs. Tafaz and Kifah and the story from the beginning, the complaint letters to Al Kaabi and the recording of the follow up.

Dr. Haider said that Sivam is accusing him of hiding the report because he knows me. He said that Sivam was certainly a….. . He was revising the report when I entered the clinic, after he finished we went to Dr. Khairalla’s office, he took copies of the report that included many prints of the evidence I brought him on CD’s.
After some follow ups at Rumaila I got a copy of the report but not on official paper not stamped or signed, Dr. Haider gave me the 4 pages he wrote, showed me the final report that includes all the pictures I brought him and said I can pick it tomorrow. Him and Dr. Khairalla were very supportive, and told me that the final report will be printed and signed and ready by tomorrow, that I can pick it up from Mr. Paul’s office. I said that he is not with me, Dr. Khairalla said that the report is my right.
My son was fine till his brother left him, on the 27th he was lonely and worried. After that I spent my days in the chase after the reports and my nights talking to my son till 4 in the morning, I slept 4 hours every day from 4 to 8 in the morning.

I went to Mr. Paul’s office, he was in a meeting, his staff said the report is ready it is only waiting for Dr. Khairalla’s signature and should be ready on Sunday.
At the clinic in Canada things were fine until I asked for the report for the case here and another consultation, the other doctor said that he would remove all appliances and watch the relapse, to do that he wants a proof of payments from the previous clinic and that we have no pending legal cases. And that he can recommend other clinics for us.
My son does not want to see any more doctors, will settle for whatever his doctor would do he said and asked me not to interfere. On my son’s 3 CD scan appointment on 4/9 morning I sent him a copy of Rumaila’s report and proof of payment from the last clinic.
I had to call the Consultants clinic few times to get the balance fixed through their accountant until I was able to see him, they was an extra charge and the left balance was 2500 but my son left before he finished his treatment. The day I got the report Dr. Kifah told me when we came to the front desk in front of the two receptionists and a client that they do not give reports before the payments are finished and that he had done that as a special favor because they trust us! It must be because I paid the 4000 for the expander in full when I did not have to, that was when he discovered that it is still possible to use the expander, one week after he offered us the invisible braces for an extra 4000, and two weeks after the 7500 down payment, paid on the day he fit the braces. I paid in advance 11500 from the 18000. After I took the report and he said that, on the day I closed the balance and Dr. Kifah argued that they have to take the full amount even though he did not finish the treatment or fit the retainer. I asked for the x-ray and the mold he took at the beginning of the treatment. I went twice and called few times and made sure it is ready before I went to pick it up, but I was kept waiting for more than half an hour without any explanation as to why I am waiting or why they said it was ready when I called. The mold does not have a hinge, the last teeth are cut out, the name, date and stamp I asked for are all together on both sides, none of them are clear.

At the law office, they want the final report, I had met the lawyer before on my first visit and later met the owner of the office and he demanded the reports. He said that my son’s case is guaranteed, the compensation for both is 10 million Riyals, the fees are 100 thousand and 5% of the compensation. He would not trade the down payment for extra percentage, and the threat of suing me for exposing the hospital would not prevent me from leaving.

I went to Rumaila, the report is with Dr. Khairalla still to sign it, and I can get it tomorrow from Mr. Paul’s office. Things looked suspicious and Mrs. Hilda was different. I went to Mr. Paul’s he was polite and said the report is waiting to be signed from Dr. Khairallah, after that he will discuss it with Dr. Hill, and by the end of the week at the most by Thursday they will call me to get it. But I knew better that these are a pirate’s promise, who informed me few months ago, two months after his joining the hospital and understanding the situation that the health committee will not do anything for me they will just return my case to Saad Al Kaabi, and that these system problems also happen in England. Lately he warned me not to call Rumaila or Hamad Hospitals anymore, because I spoke to his secretary with impatience after I was fed up with his avoiding my calls and lies.
Appointment with the first lawyer, they will answer regarding their fees next appointment after I bring the reports, and refused to answer as to how much is the expected compensation, they want me to take the reports for translation and to be available during the case.

The other lawyer called asking about the authorization, I told him I am still after the report, he said to bring my reports from Canada, they do not need me to be available. I went to see Dr. Mamoun at Hamad hospital, he was not there, I left my son’s report with the office.

I called Dr. Mamoun few times, then he answered. I said the report is still stuck, he replied that he just came back and did not have time to read the papers I brought and that he will call back. He did not.

I called Dr. Mamoun, no answer. I was at his office by 9. When will I get my report, last week it was ready waiting for a signature? Who gave you this report? Dr. Khairalla and Dr. Haidar, now Mr. Paul is holding it, he said he will discuss it with Dr. Peter Hill and I can get it on Thursday, but I do not believe I will. Dr. Mamoun said tell him to print it on official hospital paper sign and stamp it. He showed me a sample and told me to take it easy. I said one and half years to get a report, and the patients list of rights are everywhere in the hospital, he shook his head. I said I have to go to my son, and what will be next, what shall I do with the report, courts without use? He said he will sort it with the legal department. He said take this paper tell them to write on official papers like it. I told him I could not get Zirie to change his report, when it is time to liberate Palestine we will not call him.
I called Mr. Paul’s office, he is in a meeting now, but he will be in a meeting at 1 to discuss the issue and I can pick up the report after that. I went to Rumaila, Miss Hilda said they are all in a meeting now, I told her what Dr. Mamoun said, she asked for his full name, I said he works at Dr. Hill’s office and gave her his phone number and asked her to tell them that I already gave him a copy of the report they gave me. She went in and told me I can wait for Dr. Khairalla. He came out 20 minutes later, he was smiling, told me that the report in internal matter and confidential. The report they wrote concerns a serious crime, Sivam has already left the hospital and it is internal matter they have to report it to the administration because the administration asked them for a report, I said I paid for a report and I have not received it yet, he said that concerns a normal short report! I told him what Dr. Mamoun said, he said they deal with the management direct with Dr. Hill through Mr. Paul and I can call later to get my report from the management. I said can I call you tomorrow morning he said to call Mr. Paul.
By 12 I was back home, at 1 I called Mr. Paul, he just stepped out, his secretary will call me back. At 1:30 Mr. Paul’s secretary called, he had the meeting and tomorrow he will meet with Dr. Hill at the general director’s office at 12:30. After that she will call me to tell me when I can get the report. Can you call me early enough so I can have time to pick it up before the weekend, she said but the meeting is at 12:30. I said please remind them that I need to find out when so I can book and leave to be with my son.

8:30 at the H.H. Management, Dr. Mamoun apologized that he could not talk to Khairalla he was in a meeting, and that he did not give the report I gave him yesterday to Dr. Hill, and that Dr. Khairalla is not telling me the truth, he should give me the report. I said he said it is with Mr. Paul now, and Mr. Paul will discuss it today at 12:30 with Dr. Peter Hill, tell them if I do not get my report or if I get a small report as Dr. Khairalla said, I will send them both to the newspapers with these 6 pages, recording all what happened since I wrote to the media and the chase after the reports. He said he really wants to help but of all the cases only mine and another one are trapped, I said because it is a big scandal. Who is the one who wanted to sue me for exposing the reputation of the hospital, He said ….. Al Suwaidi. I gave Dr. Mamoun my web card and asked him to pass it to him, that him, the corporation, the country and America are against me but I have God with me and I started adding my story on my website, it will include their story because it is a serious part in my life and my son’s. I gave him Dr. Kawas’s report, with it the brochure about osteoporosis, told him I got that from the door at Dr. Zirie’s office, he knows what they did to my bones and he affirmed that the investigation committee will know, no need for his report. But the files of tests I brought them will bring them reports from Canada, and reports for my son.
I went to drop the Rumaila report and my two reports at Miss Suad Al Hamad’s office, she was in a meeting, I left her a message to call me back.
I called the lawyer, still chasing after the report. He said they might hide everything; they had cases where Hamad Hospital completely hid the file and changed its contents. I need the report, the other documents are minor and the receipts of the 16000 we paid which is a proof that my son was treated at their hospital, the report is essential, no matter what is in it. He translated the report it is not a strong one, I said it says treatment failed and he needs an operation for his profile, he said the reports from Canada will do, but the most important thing is the report from Rumaila, I have no proof that my son was treated there. Can I report them to the police or courts, he said things will take longer, they will be extremely cautious and will hide all evidence.
After I came home I called Miss Suad Al Hamad. I told her all what happened since our meeting on August 14, she said Tula is back but she will follow up with my complaint. She was waiting for the reports. Tula the Australian who was following up with my case from the beginning and got angry because of what I said about America in my letter. I said I was in the chase for the reports for one month, got two nonsense reports for me and Mahmud’s is serious but confidential, and I will get a short report or might not. She asked why did not we notice the problem earlier, or ask other doctors I said he was promising to finish soon, and he was lying, and when I left to check on my other son in Dubai he finished the treatment, he said that everything was fine. When my son complained later it turned out that Sivam was a criminal. She asked where is he from, I said Malaysian, she said Muslim, how come he did that! (Arabs need to redefine Muslim after the many years of brain washing). The doctors in Rumaila say that my son will take his right and the rights of others, because there are cases worse than my sons. I called Paul’s office. His secretary told me that the report is with Dr. Khairallah for revising, and when it is ready he will call me!
I called Dr. Khairallah, Hilda said that he says I will not get other than the report I already have. That it is sufficient. But it is not on official paper nor signed or stamped! After few hours he answered my call and said that I can ask Dr. Hydar to sign it.
The lawyer called telling me that he reviewed the case with others, that there are many strong positive points in my letter to the Media and the report. I told him about what happened today with the report, and said that I want to report them to the police. He said that would delay things and they will hide evidence. The other lawyer called, he said to demand an official report, to tell them I need it for Canada and that it is a supermarket’s report. I called Dr. Mamoun. Can I meet your lawyer? After an hour he replied, that tomorrow anytime from 8 to 1.

In the morning I went to Dr. Hydar, I appologised for the trouble I caused him, and said they decided to lay the responsibility on you. He signed and stamped the report, saying that he said the truth and does back up from the Truth. I went to the court and got the authorization for the lawyer, then I went to Dr. Mamoun, he directed me to the legal advisors building. I knew there that what I did was my right, and was advised to head to the court. I called Miss Suad Al Hamad, told her that I got the signature on the report for my son and asked her for an appointment tomorrow morning. At 2:30 I received a call from the office of Mr. Tarek Al Neimah from Aspire Zone, that he wants to see me the next morning regarding my complaint against Aspetar, in the Olympic Games building on the Corniche.

I took the authorization and the medical files and the letter to the media in Arabic and English, and my letters to Hamad Hospital file, and the CD with my son’s reports and the Media letters to the lawyer. The appointment is Saturday to pay the fees, and he wants the authorization from my soon, to book an early appointment with the court to spare us from delays. He warned of the claim that My son neglected his treatment and that we might have signed a paper that clears them of responsibility in case the treatment fails! As I waited in the parking lot, I revised that My son started using the elastics around 2005, that’s when his responsibility started, and that Sivam cannot prove that My son neglected because he never warned of any problems and because the elastics can move his teeth but cannot expand his jaw. And that Sivam refused to take an x-ray then, and he forged one that does not belong to my son to prove that his case was fine then but he neglected afterwards. The question is would they hide the file and that paper that frees them from the responsibility remains.
Mr. Tarek Al Neimah, reminded me of my request for help with getting the report from Rumaila for my son, and my complaint against Aspetar. I said yes, I had asked in my letter for help from Sheikh Jasem, concerning the crime done to him at Rumaila Hospital. He asked with disbelief! Why did not we hire a lawyer? I said I cannot sue them without a report, a proof that my son was treated at their hospital, and I have been trying for more than a year and after one month of chasing lately I got this report from them. I gave him a copy. I said on plain paper, no hospital name or stamp, the doctor who wrote was noble, he signed it and stamped it on his responsibility, the report says that the treatment failed and my son needs a surgery for his profile and he said in it that the file is missing. He said that the sheikh does not hold anything from Hamad Hospital, he always gives them what they ask for, but when a big establishment’s reputation is smeared it is hard to change that. I said their troubles are always on the rise. He apologised for the delay regarding my complaint with Aspetar and said that their reputation is important and they have not passed by a complaint like mine before. And he inquired about the doctor. I said that Dr. Mattew diagnosed the case right and referred me to the right physiotherapy. In two days I was better but the therapist did not commit to what the doctor asked for, and she failed to heed to my constant complaints and warnings, that I need a major surgery now because of that, I will leave in few days to be with my son. He asked about the name of the therapist. I said Mufida. He asked who was with my son? I said God. He offered help, saying that they are brothers to me, I said no thank you, I am asking only for my rights. He said that they are investigating the matter and will call me soon. He asked for my ID card and a means to contact me.
I continued to Miss Suad’s office at Hamad Hospital, she said that they were discussing my problem as she told me yesterday, and that I misunderstood what the secretary said, that she did not mean what I understood. I said I did not translate her words because they were: you will expose yourself to mischief because you are exposing the reputation of the corporation and the country to danger. I also said that she caused me worry. I told her that I got the signature and the stamp on the report, and that I was supposed to be with my son but I was delayed because of the reports, now I can hire a lawyer and have found a big firm with branches outside. She asked if I hired one, I said on Saturday, I will finish the authorization before I leave. I reminded her that they told me to bring reports to settle the issue with them. She said not to tell anyone anymore and that she will speak to the public relations manager Mr. Al Muhannadi and will inform me on Thursday in 2 days. I continued to Dr. Mamoun’s office, I said that I got the report stamped and signed and that the lawyer accepted it, he asked if I spoke to their lawyer yesterday. I said the report was not with me, he said he will talk to him and tell me. I said I hope to settle the issue with the hospital because if I enter the courts after all this I will have another scandal file against them.

I called Dr. Mamoun around 1:30, he said he just came back from the legal advisors that he raised his blood pressure, and his attempts were for no avail. He asked if I had met the manager Abd Al majid, I said no. I asked can I meet him, he said to call him back tomorrow at 10.

Dr. Mamoun says there is no use of talking to the legal advisors, that they say the report I have is very strong. Would you throw 100 thousand to a lawyer in a country whose legal system is employed to defend the hospital? How many lawyers did you see? I said three. Not including the ones I asked by phone and e-mails and the two I met last year. I said I will deal with the medical expenses for my son and me, to fix their crimes with us above the agony they caused us. He said they pay millions in compensations; the million to them is a Pepsi bottle. He apologized that he really tried to help, that he did help many cases but only two are stuck, my case and another’s. He promised to bring the issue on the radio program my dear country in few days and he said that things are changing for the better.
Mrs. Suad Al Hamad says that the report is weak, it has nothing except that he was negligent. That Dr. Hanan Alkwari’s secretary did not say what I understood and that they cannot do anything about the report. I told her again that I did not understand or explain I just said what she said. I told her that the report means that my son’s face needs an operation because of this negligence, and the doctors in here and in Canada and America through my relative and the lawyers including their lawyers say that the report is strong and clear, and that Hanan Alkawari’s secretary has no right to threaten me, and that I have the right to go to the media and that Jassim Alswaidi threatened to sue me for exposing the hospital, that he contacted lawyers in America for that. She asked when I wrote to the hospital about my problem. I said since February 2007, and your lawyer said I have the right to do what I want since you did not reply to my letters. She wanted to know his name and when I saw him, yesterday? I said that I let my son leave alone at the worst times because you called me after my letter to the media and asked for the reports. When you asked for the reports I thought it is possible to solve the problem with the hospital because I will not throw 100 thousand to a lawyer and your judges work for the hospital. She laughed in approval and answered but there are fair ones. I said I will have to deal with the expenses of your crimes with us, and that the farce of chasing after the reports that lasted a month, its details are recorded and ready for the media. She laughed knowing what I meant by trying to get the reports that they claim are the patient’s right. She said to speak to Almuhannadi, but he is busy. I said and who is he, the public relations manager, is he higher than Hanan Alkwari or Peter Hill or Dr. Galia Althani. She said that the hospital has many managers and they do not know who follows what. (I had asked before that they refer me to an official to follow up with in their big stable). I said tell him that I will be sending my second letter to the media on Monday and I will reach for international courts, if he has another solution to call me.
Mrs. Suad got angry during the call, and told me to stick to the subject. But she laughed silently in mocking at everything I said about the hospital, she approved on all my accusations and she knows the situation exactly like all the others, but it is the pagan’s ardor and fake Islam.
That is how I got the report that proves their crime, and that is how I lifted their cover. There is yet more about the details of the crime and the complaint letters to the hospital, and how they dealt with them.

Dr. Sivam report:
- Mild Class 111 malocclusion with premature contact on upper incisors resulting with forward mandibular displacement with reverse overjet.

Phase 1:

Result:
- Anterior cross-bite was corrected.
Phase 2:
- Started 02/11/2003 by extraction of all upper and lower first premolars to provide space for the un-erupted permanent canines and camouflage purposes in the lower arch.
- Fitting fixed orthodontic appliance on 02/12/2003 and start to camouflage the Class 111 Malocclusion.
- Patient was referred to ENT surgeon for treatment of nasal blockage. Nasal drop was prescribed.
- Case was de-bonded with reasonable occlusion on 20/03/2007.
- Removable retainers were issued with instructions and advised to adhere to the regime or else would suffer relapse.
Result of treatment:
Detailed treatment result was not mentioned except reasonable occlusion was achieved.
NB.
Dr Sivam noted that patient compliance was poor in wearing elastics. Thus treatment duration was prolonged.

Skeletal & Facial Relationships
The facial bones demonstrate a relative roundness with a squarish lower jaw and the face appears somewhat shorter in appearance.
. The upper jaw is positioned behind the lower jaw
. The facial dimension from nose to chin appears to be shorter than normal.
. The nose-lip angle is obtuse, indicating a lack of support for the upper lip.
TMJ Analysis
There appears to be no jaw joint (TMJ) problems at this time. A good range of jaw movement
and muscle function is present
. No pain around the ear or jaw joint was reported.
Dental Relationships
. Multiple missing permanent teeth
. The upper front teeth are excessively inclined (proclined) forward
. The upper and lower front teeth either overlap only slightly, or are in an edge to edge bite.
This is referred to as a "shallow bite".
. The upper back teeth close inside the lower back teeth. This is called a "crossbite".
. The shape and size of the upper jaw is wider than normal.
. Lower front teeth are right of center with teeth in "best fit"
. Wisdom teeth (third molars) are present and they appear to be impacting. Consultation with
your dentist oral surgeon may be recommended in the future.
. Gingival inflammation is characterized by edema & stippling loss
. The supporting bone on the facial surface of front teeth is thin
. The gum surrounding the teeth seems inadequate and further evaluaton may be necessary.
. Periodontal pockets were not probed.
. Analysis of radiographs (X-rays) reveals possible areas of bone loss in
teeth.
. Analysis of radiographs (X-rays) reveals possible areas of bone loss in posterior teeth.
Treatment Objectives
. Increase overlap (overbite) of front teeth by erupting incisor teeth.
. Eliminate dental crossbites that may affect jaw (and jaw joint) function and position.
. Try to establish the most favourable positions of the teeth to provide the most stable bite as
possible.
. Orthodontics to reposition and align the teeth to improve function and appearance of the
dentofaciai structures.
Treatment Program / Options Discussed
. We have outlined a comprehensive treatment plan for you to consider.
' Referral to an orai surgeon for jaw surgery consultation.
. Surgically assisted rapid palatal expansion to help resolve skeletal and dental disharmonies.

' Full appliances in both the upper and lower dental arches to be followed by a period of
retention appliances.
. The new self ligating DAMON system of braces will be used

We can not emphasize enough the importance of preventative care during orthodontic
treatment. Please see your general dentist every 6 months for routine dental care.
Prognosis / Post Treatment Concerns
. This case presents with a very difficult problem to resolve and superb cooperation with
appliances, oral hygiene and appointments, etc., will be necessary.
. The prognosis for the orthodontic treatment program described above is guarded and the
following concerns should be re-emphasized:
. Crown lengthening (gum tissue reduciton) will probably be needed around the previously
impacted teeth.
Following orthodontic treatment and retention, it will be necessary for your referring dentist
to perform an occlusal equilibration (grinding and reshaping of the teeth) and restorative
dentistry (reshape or replace old restoration, crowns and bridges etc.) as needed.
A period of prolonged retention is required. It may be necessary to wear some sort of
retainters at nights on a permanent basis if one wishes to maintain maximum stability of the
orthodontic correction. This could be monitored by our office or your dentist.
As per our discussion, you have decided to proceed with our suggestion for further dental
specialist consultations. Please contact us to review the assessments.
